Sarah Steele, who played Eli Gold’s daughter Marissa on CBS’ “The Good Wife,” is set to return in the role for the upcoming spin-off series on CBS All Access.
Steele recurred throughout all but the first season of the legal drama and will now take on a series regular role in the spin-off which will be hosted exclusively on the network’s streaming service.
The series kicks off when an enormous financial scam destroys the reputation of a young lawyer, while simultaneously wiping out her mentor Diane Lockhart’s savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, Diane (Christine Baranski) joins Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.
Marissa will play Diane’s secretary-turned-investigator. Steele is the first cast member to come onboard since the spinoff was announced in May with Baranski and Jumbo attached.
“The Good Wife” spin-off, upon which Robert and Michelle King have come onboard as showrunners, is currently readying for a premiere in February.
