Sarah Shahi Is The New “Nancy Drew”

Sarah Shahi (“Person of Interest”) is set to play the titular role of Nancy Drew in CBS’ upcoming modernized TV series spin on the classic detective character.

“Drew” will follow a 30-something more mature take on the amateur sleuth who, in this incarnation is now a detective for the NYPD where she investigates and solves crimes using her uncanny observational skills.

Vanessa Ferlito will play her former NYPD partner, Anthony Edwards is her lawyer father, Felix Solis is an NYPD lieutenant who butts heads with Shahi, and Steve Kazee plays the male lead Ned – an investigative reporter for the New York Times and Nancy’s former boyfriend.

Dan Jinks, Joan Rater and Tony Phelan are executive producing.
