There was one obvious absence from the DC Comics movie line-up schedule announcement by Warner Bros. Pictures earlier this week. That film? The adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed “Sandman” comics.
It turns out there’s a good reason. Warners is not considering it a DC film as such according to Gaiman himself. The writer responded to the question on Tumblr, saying: “It’s not a DC Comics film. It’s a Vertigo film. That’s a different slate of films, and a different announcement.”
Does this mean we can expect an announcement soon from Warner Bros. Pictures in which titles based on DC imprint Vertigo get their own release dates? Such a list would likely include Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Justice League Dark’-themed project featuring the supernatural creations of the DC universe.
