One of the earliest of the Marvel TV series to premiere on the Disney+ streaming service will be “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” which is targeting a launch almost exactly one year from now.
The series scored another brief tease this past weekend as part of Marvel’s panel for its shows. Stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan were on hand for the event and did some press to talk about what to expect.
“I’m not Captain America. Just because he told me to hold his shield, he didn’t say ‘you’re Captain America now. He’s like, ‘I’m gonna go back and see my girl, call me if something happens. I don’t wanna carry this dumb shield.’… I am the Falcon. I will always be the Falcon. The moniker stays the same.”
In addition, showrunner/writer Malcolm Spellman was on hand and says fans shouldn’t assume they know what the upcoming series is going to be like:
“I wouldn’t make any assumptions based on ‘Endgame’. You know how Marvel is, we can’t say much about that, but it’s not predictable. Where you think ‘Endgame’ obviously aims, that target’s gonna move around.”
This weekend also saw the news that Wyatt Russell will play John Walker, aka US Agent, in this universe. “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” hits late next summer.
