Sam Raimi has boarded one of three new films about the Bermuda Triangle that are in the works. Raimi’s one is a mystery thriller set up at Skydance Productions (“Mission: Impossible,” “Star Trek”).
With the competitive environment, neither it or the rival projects at Universal and Warners are releasing any details about their films beyond them dealing with that famed patch of the Caribbean where planes and ships have inexplicably gone missing.
In fact, prospective filmmakers had to go to Skydance’s offices just to read the script by Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard (“Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”). Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (2009’s “Friday the 13th” reboot) penned a previous version with Skydance having been at work on the project since 2013.
