Sam Raimi is set to direct “World War 3,” a feature film based on predictions from futurist George Friedman’s 2009 non-fiction best seller “The Next 100 Years”.
The head of a preeminent private intelligence and forecasting firm, Friedman’s book predicts the replacement of the U.S.-Jihadist war with a new Cold War between the U.S. and Russia, China’s world power role diminishing and Mexico’s rising, along with new technologies and cultural trends that will change our lives.
The news comes as part of an announcement today by Bill Block Media which optioned the book and is actively developing the adaptation. The company has officially closed a two-year, first-look production deal with Warner Bros. Pictures who will distribute.
