Sam Mendes is attached to direct the film adaptation of Gay Talese’s recent New Yorker article “The Voyeur’s Motel” which has been making waves all over the Internet.
DreamWorks has snapped up the film rights to the article with Steven Spielberg set to produce the adaptation. The article is an excerpt from a book that is set to be published July 12th and will likely be a part of the deal too.
Spanning several decades, the nonfiction piece follows the journalist and his dealings with Gerald Foos, a married man who bought a motel and rigged the ceiling and air vents in a way he could watch his guests having sex. It went on for years and during this he wound up witnessing a murder.
