Ryan Potter, who voiced Hiro Hamada in Disney’s “Big Hero 6,” has reportedly scored the key role of Beast Boy in the live-action “Titans” series at DC Entertainment. The story follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe.
In the comics, young Garfield ‘Gar’ Logan contracted the lethal disease, Sakutia, while on an African expedition with his geneticist parents. Treated with an experimental drug, Gar survived but not without developing some bizarre side effects.
Along with skin and hair turning permanently green, the wisecracking, fun-loving Beast Boy is able to reshape himself into any animal of any size he can imagine.
He joins a cast that includes Anna Diop as Starfire, Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Teagan Croft as Raven, Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger, Alan Ritchson as Hawk and Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach.
The Warner Bros. TV series will premiere in 2018 as part of DC’s direct-to-consumer digital service.
