‘Rwanda’ Scribe Pens Cesar Chavez Biopic

Scribe Keir Pearson and producer Larry Meli have optioned life rights to a biopic about civil-rights activist and labor organizer Cesar Chavez reports Reuters.

Chavez worked as a community organizer through the 50’s up until the early 90’s and fought for improved working conditions for California farm workers, eventually co-founding what would become the United Farm Workers union.

Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna’s Mexico-based Canana Films will produce the film with Meli while Pearson (“Hotel Rwanda”) will pen the script.
