Tom Holland is in talks to star in “Avenger: Infinity War” directors Anthony and Joe Russo’s new directorial effort “Cherry” for AGBO Studios.
Based on the 2018 novel by Nico Walker, the story follows a former Iraq War Army medic who turned to rob banks to pay for his increasing medical bills and cope with his PTSD.
The book was a fictional spin on Walker himself, an army medic convicted for bank robbery and currently serving out the last two years of his eleven-year prison sentence. “The Path” series creator Jessica Goldberg adapted the novel for the screen and filming will begin this summer.
The Russos will also produce with Mike Larocca. Holland will next be seen in “Avengers: Endgame” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home” this Summer, has “Chaos Walking” opening next year, is currently filming Netflix’s “The Devil All the Time,” and has numerous voice roles in animated features on the way including “Spies in Disguise,” “The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle” and Pixar’s “Onward”.
