Russia’s Hero-Centric “Guardians” Gets A U.S. Trailer

Following the rather quirky first trailer released the other month, a U.S. trailer is now out for the Russian superhero film “Guardians”. Featuring a half-bear man in cargo shorts and with a gattling gun, a Sue Storm-type, and a lethal assassin with sickles, the film is essentially Russia’s answer to the Marvel films.

In the film, a secret Cold War organization created a squad of superheroes – a rock-man, a sword-wielding speedster, an invisible woman, and a were-bear. For years they had to hide their identity, but in hard times and with a new dangerous enemy emerging, they must reunite.

Anton Pampushny, Sanjar Madiev, Sebastian Sisak, Alina Lanina, Stanislav Shirin, Valery Shkirando, Vyacheslav Razbegaev, Alexander Semenov, and Vladimir Butenko all star. The film opens in Russia on February 23rd next year, and will then premiere later in 2017 in the United States.
