Rush Hour Series Nabs Its Other Lead

Justin Hires (“21 Jump Street,” “Key and Peele”) is set to play Carter, the role which Chris Tucker made famous, in CBS’ TV adaptation of the hit “Rush Hour” movie franchise.

He joins British actor Jon Foo (“Tekken,” “Vikingdom,” “The Protector”) who is taking on the role of Detective Lee which Jackie Chan played in the films.

Hires’ Carter is an irreverent bad-boy detective who uses unorthodox methods to get results. He also has no interest in a partner, but is forced to work with a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police detective assigned to a case in Los Angeles.

Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick penned and will executive produce the show. “National Treasure” helmer Jon Turteltaub will direct the pilot and executive produce as well.
