Not long after it was revealed, the proposed TV series reboot of the “Rush Hour” franchise has landed a pilot production commitment at CBS.
The project marks the second Warner Bros. Television-produced series the network has picked up following a “Supergirl” series commitment last month.
The story follows a brash and outspoken LAPD cop who prefers to work alone being forced to team up with a straight-laced Hong Kong police officer. It is based on the Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker-led series of the same name.
“Cougar Town” creator Bill Lawrence is co-writing the “Rush Hour” pilot script with ‘Cougar’ show runner Blake McCormick.
