Rupert Wyatt Sees A “Night Film”

Rupert Wyatt (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”) is set to direct an adaptation of the noir thriller “Night Film” for Chernin Entertainment.

The story follows an investigative journalist named Scott McGrath who begins looking into the death of a beautiful young woman that was originally deemed a suicide.

The woman turns out to be the daughter of a reclusive, cult horror film director named Stanislas Cordova, and McGrath finds himself on a journey of revenge and truth.

Novelist Marisha Pessl (“Special Topics in Calamity Physics”) penned the book which will be released in August, but no scribe has been hired to adapt the script as yet.

No distributor is locked yet, though Chernin has a first-look deal at Fox.
