“Run,” “Turning,” “Mario Bros.” Set New Dates

A couple of key new release date announcements today starting with the new “Super Mario Bros.” animated feature from Illumination (“Minions”) which Nintendo is now saying will target a 2022 release. They add that development is proceeding as expected.

Next up, “Searching” director Aneesh Chaganty returns with the Sarah Paulson-led thriller “Run” which has settled on a January 24th 2020 release date. Paulson plays a mother who raises her teenage daughter in isolation, only to see her life begin to unravel as she discovers her mother’s sinister secret.

Universal has pushed back “The Turning,” its adaptation of Henry James’ horror novella “The Turn of the Screw,” by nearly a year to a January 24th 2020 release. Mackenzie Davis plays a young woman who becomes the nanny of two orphans who live in a haunted country mansion.

Finally, director Judd Apatow and SNL alum Pete Davidson’s upcoming collaboration, a semi-autobiographical story of Davidson growing up in Staten Island, has been given a June 19th 2020 release date by Universal.
