Rudd, Black, Lynch, Helms Into “Muppets”

All sorts of high profile names have been linked with the upcoming “The Muppets” movie Disney Pictures is releasing Christmas next year.

As previously reported, Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones have already been cast in the project which James Bobin (“Flight of the Conchords”) is directing from a script co-written by Nick Stoller and Segel.

Now, The Wrap says they’ll be joined by “Glee” star Jane Lynch as a prison guard, “Machete” star Danny Trejo as her prisoner, and Donald Glover in an undisclosed role.

Production Weekly quickly added some more rumoured names to that, saying they’ve heard mention of Jack Black for a role, Zach Galifianakis as Hobo Jo, and Paul Rudd as Walter the Muppet. They also allude to Lady Gaga appearing in the project with the likes of John Krasinski, Eric Stonestreet and Ed Helms playing members of her entourage.
