“Orange Is the New Black” star Ruby Rose is in negotiations to join Jason Statham and Fan Bingbing in the prehistoric shark feature “Meg” at Warner Bros. Pictures and Gravity Pictures.
“National Treasure” helmer Jon Turteltaub directs the film about a former Naval captain and expert diver recruited to undertake a deep-sea mission to rescue Chinese scientists under attack from a terrifying threat: a Carcharodon Megalodon.
Rose will play Jaxx, an engineering genius and member of the marine research team. She’s coming off a quick succession of supporting roles in a number of films including “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage,” “John Wick 2” and “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Belle Avery and Colin Wilson are producing and “Meg” is currently targeting a March 2nd 2018 release.
