Rubin Adapts “Yomigaeri” As “Rainbow”

Scribe Bruce Joel Rubin (“Ghost,” “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” “Jacob’s Ladder”) has been hired to script “Rainbow Bridge”, an adaptation of Akihiko Shiota’s 2002 Japanese cult hit “Yomigaeri”, for Dreamworks Pictures says the trades.

The original was set in a town in which people who have been dead for decades come back to life.

Instead of engaging in zombie behavior, though, the townspeople simply return to their normal lives as though nothing changed.

Shiota, Brad Krevoy, Mike Callaghan and Tetsu Fujimura are producing. “Gladiator” scribe William Nicholson had initially been hired to write the script.
