“Roseanne” Ratings Soar With DVR

Further ratings information is in for ABC’s “Roseanne” return with the comedy revival rising by a further 6.6 million viewers in Live+3 ratings which factor in DVR use and delayed viewing.

That lifts the comedy’s first telecast in nearly twenty years to an enormous 7.3 rating and 25 million viewers tuning in – a new time-shifting record and the biggest of that type since the premiere of “How to Get Away With Murder” in 2014.

The numbers also don’t include the additional 4.3 million viewers who tuned into an encore telecast on Sunday night, or those viewing through online outlets like Hulu and ABC’s streaming app.

How much of the record haul will be retained for the show’s second week this week will be closely watched. “Roseanne” has already been renewed and will return next year.
