Rose Byrne (“Bridesmaids”) is said to be in negotiations for two upcoming comedies – Nicholas Stoller’s “Townies” at Universal Pictures, and Shawn Levy’s “This Is Where I Leave You” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
“Townies” is an R-rated comedy that follows a rivalry between a member of an alpha male-filled college fraternity (Zac Efron) and a local family man (Seth Rogen) who lives right nearby.
Byrne would play Rogen’s wife. That project is scheduled to begin filming this Spring.
“Leave’ is an adaptation of the 2010 Jonathan Tropper novel and centers on a man (Jason Bateman) whose father dies and tasks his dysfunctional family of four grown siblings with one last request: to spend seven days after the funeral together under the same roof for first time in a decade.
Byrne would play the romantic interest to Bateman’s character – a former wild child and old crush of his. Tina Fey, Jane Fonda, Kathryn Hahn and Corey Stoll also star in the project which begins shooting in June.
