Ronan, Fanning, Upton Up For “Fantastic Beasts”

Numerous well-known actresses are reportedly in consideration for the upcoming “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them,” the first of Warner Brothers’ proposed “Harry Potter” spin-off trilogy set decades before the events of the main series.

The film follows the adventures of writer Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in New York’s secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school.

The Wrap reports that Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning, Lili Simmons and Alison Sudol are in the mix to play the female lead Tina, while Kate Upton, Katherine Waterston and Elizabeth Debicki are on the list for the role of Tina’s older sister Queenie.

Also in the mix are Steve Zisis, Zack Pearlman and Dan Fogler who are reportedly all in contention to play Newt’s nemesis Jacob.

The first instalment of the “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them” is scheduled to hit November next year.
