Ronaldhio Joins Rebooted “Kickboxer” Sequel

Brazilian soccer star and two-time FIFA world player of the year winner Ronaldinho has joined the cast of Dimitri Logothetis’ martial arts action film “Kickboxer: Retaliation”.

‘Retaliation’ centers on a man (Alain Moussi) brought forcibly back to Thailand to fend for his life against a new formidable foe, a fighter named Mongkut (Hafpor Julius Bjornsson).

Ronaldinho will play Ronaldo, an imprisoned expert martial arts kicker who shows Moussi how to refine his deadly kick. He joins both boxer Mike Tyson and UFC star Paige VanZant in the film which is currently in production.

‘Retaliation’ is the second instalment in a trilogy reboot of the franchise which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme. The first film of the new trilogy, “Kickboxer: Vengeance,” has Van Damme taking on a different role and being joined by Gina Carano and Dave Bautista alongside Moussi. That movie opens later this year.
