Ron Howard, Dustin L. Black Go To “Heaven”

Their “Dark Tower” plans may be dead, but Ron Howard and Brian Grazer aren’t resting as they’ve already begun pursuit of another adaptation – Jon Krakauer’s 2003 novel “Under the Banner of Heaven” says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story centers on the terrible murders committed by two brothers who were members of an extreme group of Mormonism. Claiming to act under order from God, the two brothers killed the wife and infant daughter of their youngest brother.

The book also traced the origins and rise of Mormonism and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Warner Bros. Pictures is in the process of acquiring the work which “Milk” scribe Dustin Lance Black will adapt.
