It’s official, advance tickets for the Gareth Edwards-directed upcoming spin-off film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” are set to go on sale on Monday.
The news was tweeted on the official “Star Wars” account late on Thanksgiving night. Ticket sales will kick off in North America beginning at midnight US-EST for most vendors.
The film is reportedly on track for a huge $130 million plus U.S. debut. “Rogue One” is the first spin-off movie in the “Star Wars” universe and the story is set before the events of the 1977’s “A New Hope”.
Last year’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” racked up more than $100 million in advance sales ahead of a $248 million opening weekend.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens in U.S. cinemas on December 16th and most global territories around that weekend. Check out the announcement and a new TV spot below.
