Seth Rogen has confirmed to MTV News that the next directorial effort of Judd Apatow (“The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Knocked Up”) will be about stand-up comedians.
The project stars Rogen, Adam Sandler and Leslie Mann in a film that Apatow himself says will be a “hilarious drama”. Sandler himself has called the film “pretty heartbreaking” in parts despite the two main characters being comics.
It’s not all glum though, Sandler says “It’s very, very funny. [Me and] my friends who have read the script, all of us were baffled how funny it is. But there’s a lot of stuff going on in the movie.”
The film is scheduled to begin shooting in September.
