Rogen, Lonely Island Plan Music Fest Disaster

Seth Rogen and The Lonely Island group are using the failure of the now-infamous Fyre Festival to announce that they have been working on a new project which happens to center around a similar scenario.

Fyre Festival was touted as a “luxury” music festival in the Bahamas with Ja Rule and tech entrepreneur Billy McFarland organising it and with attendees paying thousands and tens of thousands to participate.

Upon arrival though, concert-goers quickly realized the event was a disorganized disaster with canceled acts and dreadful conditions that led to many trying to leave – only to face great difficulty doing so.

Rogen tweeted: “This seems like a good time to mention the movie we are making with The Lonely Island is about a music festival that goes HORRIBLY WRONG” while one of the Lonely Island group followed that up with: “For real, thinking about suing Fyre Festival for stealing our idea.”

There is currently no title or production/release date for the project. Despite universally negative press, the festival has not been completely abandoned and will be postponed until next year.
