Seth Rogen and Michael Keaton have been set to star in the comedy biopic “King of the Jungle” about tech magnate John McAfee, inventor of the famed McAfee Antivirus software.
Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski penned the true story tale based on a Wired magazine article. Keaton will play McAfee who cashed-in his fortune, left civilization, and moved to the jungle in Belize – setting up a Colonel Kurtz-like compound of ‘guns, sex and madness’.
Rogen plays Wired magazine investigator Ari Furman who accepts an interview assignment with McAfee in Belize and soon finds himself pulled into escalating paranoia, slippery reality, and murder. Johnny Depp was previously linked to the McAfee role.
Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (“I Love You Phillip Morris”) are directing and will produce alongside Dawn Ostroff, Jeremy Steckler, Charlie Gogolak and Joshua Davis.
