Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will join Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jonathan Majors and Alex Sharp in Aaron Sorkin’s “The Trial Of The Chicago 7”. Pre-production was paused in December and is now back on with filming slated to kick off late Summer.
Sorkin pens and helms the film about the infamous 1969 trial of seven defendants charged by the federal government with conspiracy and more, arising from the countercultural protests in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention.
Redmayne is Tom Hayden, Baron Cohen is Abbie Hoffman, Rogen is Jerry Rubin, Gordon-Levitt is Richard Schultz, Majors is Bobby Seale, and Sharp is Rennie Davis. Michael Keaton is also reportedly being sought for the role of William Kunstler.
Marc Platt and Matt Jackson will produce.
