Mandate Pictures is turning an Internet trailer which “Knocked Up” star Seth Rogen did with his friends into a feature film reports the trades.
Rogen and Jay Baruchel will star in the action comedy “Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse” which Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg will pen and produce.
The story revolves around two guys who, with the end the world unfolding and the planet invaded by monsters, are ready to kill each other after being cooped up together for too long.
Jason Stone directed a short trailer for it last year in the hopes that the concept could one day be turned into a movie.
Rogen and Goldberg essentially retain full creative ownership including final cut. A director and budget will be announced shortly.
Filming will take place in 2009 to accomodate Rogen’s schedule which include Judd Apatow’s next comedy and “The Green Hornet”.
