Robocop & The Dude In Forced Retirement

The planned remake/reboot of the “Robocop” franchise looks to have been terminated according to both The Financial Times and Moviehole.

Director Darren Aronofsky (“The Wrestler”) has apparently abandoned the project which, combined with MGM’s financial situation, “is now considered officially dead”. Last year Aronofsky and David Self were said to be working on the script.

Meanwhile Jeff Bridges tells MTV News that he and the Coen brothers have talked about a sequel to “The Big Lebowski” but it’s looking highly unlikely.

“We talked about it occasionally [while filming ‘True Grit’], but no plans man, no plans… No, no, no, I don’t think it’s gonna happen” says Bridges.
