On the eve of its world premiere at the Slamdance Film Festival, Julia Roberts has secured the remake rights to the new documentary “Batkid Begins”.
Roberts, Lisa Gillan and Marisa Yeres Gill will produce the film and Roberts is attached to star in the narrative film remake of the true story about Miles Scott, a five-year-old boy diagnosed with leukemia.
Scott wanted to be Batman for a day, an event that the Make-A-Wish foundation turned into a worldwide phenomenon on social media. Dana Nachman, who helmed the documentary, will serve as executive producer.
The documentary opens in cinemas in November.
