Electronic Arts has won an exclusive worldwide license from Ludlum Entertainment to create video games based on the works of the late author Robert Ludlum.
The deal includes his popular Jason Bourne novels, and the first game set to be released under the arrangement is based on the Bourne series. Sweden-based Starbreeze Studios (“Chronicles of Riddick”) is working on that game. A previous Bourne game was published by Sierra Entertainment.
Ludlum Entertainment currently has numerous films in development so any game spin-offs from those properties will now have to go through EA. These would include MGM’s “The Matarese Circle” with Denzel Washington and David Cronenberg directing, Summit Entertainment’s “The Osterman Weekend,” Paramount’s “The Chancellor Manuscript” with Leonardo DiCaprio attached, and the Jose Padilha-directed “The Sigma Protocol” at Universal.
