Margot Robbie’s Luckychap and Dan Lin’s Rideback production companies are developing Tess Sharpe’s novel “Barbed Wire Heart” into a feature film for Warner Bros. Pictures.
The story follows Harley McKenna, daughter of a meth-dealing killer groomed for the family business since she was sixteen.
She squares off against the rival family who took her mother’s life and must find a way to stand up to them and her fierce father without jeopardizing the lives of the abuse survivors in the women’s shelter she runs.
“Westworld” scribe Carly Wray is adapting the script while Lin, Robbie, Tom Ackerly and Jonathan Eirich will produce. Robbie is not expected to star at this time.
