Rob Cohen Takes On “Park Narcs”

Rob Cohen, not the action director but the Emmy-winning TV comedy writer/producer for the likes of “The Simpsons” and “The Ben Stiller Show”, has been hired to helm the low-budget comedy feature “Park Narcs” for Intrepid Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.

Jacob Isser and Paul Lutz wrote the original screenplay about a college freshman who takes a summer job as a park ranger at a hard-partying lake after being dumped by his girlfriend. The intervention of a killjoy senator spurs the eccentric ranger crew into action.

Cohen will rework the script to tailor it to the actors once they are cast with offers going out this week. The aim is for a tone akin to 80’s comedies like “Meatballs”.

Marc D. Evans and Trevor Macy are producing. Filming begins this Summer either in Canada or Utah.
