It looks like Xbox One’s exclusive window for “Rise of the Tomb Raider” may be shorter than first estimated. A Steam page for the game has been uploaded and suggests a January 2016 release date for the title on PC.
CInema Blend adds that though the game is currently in its pre-release state, over the Christmas holiday weekend the developers have been play-testing the title which suggests the game is “definitely launching sooner rather than later”.
Additionally Geek.com have found an Amazon listing suggesting the specific date for the PC release – January 29th.
The game launched on November 10th and was forgotten about due to the crush of cross-platform titles at that time like “Fallout 4,” “Call of Duty Black Ops III” and “Star Wars Battlefront” dominating the market. Yet more recently the game has started to be found again by the public – the game becoming the best-selling digital Xbox One title during Christmas week – edging out “Star Wars Battlefront” even during the midst of the ‘Force Awakens’ craze.
The game also scored a stellar 86/100 on Metacritic – putting it above the likes of “Batman: Arkham Knight” (85) and “Halo 5: Guardians” (84), and not far behind best of year titles like “Fallout 4” (88) and “The Witcher 3” (91).
The game is coming to PS4, the question remains when in 2016 this will happen.
