J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is still a little over four months out, and now a new report about the final film in the Skywalker saga has gone into more details about the recently revealed red Sith Troopers.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD.
Making Star Wars posted the report which explores how the new troopers are tied to the returning Emperor Palpatine.
The site says these new Stormtroopers are “hidden away inside a massive fleet” in the Unknown Regions, an area of space beyond the galaxy’s outer rim and an area where Palpatine has a strong interest in based on recent tie-in novels.
Said fleet is reportedly made up of Star Destroyers with ‘planet destroying weapons’ and the film has Kylo Ren planning to use a device called the Wayfinder to find those ships and ‘”unlock Palpatine’s legacy”.
How The Emperor’s apparent resurrection will come about still isn’t clear. “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” opens in cinemas in December.
