Richardson, Berkoff Join Fincher’s “Girl”

Joely Richardson, Steven Berkoff and David Dencik have joined the cast of David Fincher’s American adaptation of Swedish novel sensation “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” reports SVD.se.

Their roles are unspecified presently. Key roles still not specified include possible suspect Cecilia Vanger, the Vanger’s lawyer Dirch Frode, Lisbeth’s violent guardian Nils Bjurman, the corrupt industrialist Hans-Erik Wennerstrom, and Salander’s employer Dragan Armansky.

Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Robin Wright, Stellan Skarsgard and Christopher Plummer also star in the project which Fincher is calling his “Chinatown” and adamantly says it’s a new adaptation of the book rather than a remake of the film – “There are scenes that will resemble those in the Swedish film, but it is the book that we are filming.”

Filming is currently under way in Stockholm.
