Actor Ryan Reynolds is reportedly circling the film adaptation of Graeme Simsion’s novel “The Rosie Project” for Sony Pictures.
Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber adapted the romantic dramedy which follows a socially inept genetics professor who comes up with a scientifically sound survey to find the perfect mate. His plans go awry when he meets a woman who, in her whirlwind manner, possesses all the opposite qualities he should be looking for.
Matt Tolmach and Michael Costigan are producing the film which previously had lined up Richard Linklater to direct and Jennifer Lawrence to star before both jumped ship.
Reynolds’ involvement is dependent upon the scheduling of the “Deadpool” sequel which is the priority and is rumored to begin shooting as early as this Fall says Heroic Hollywood with a very early 2018 release being targeted.
Reynolds is also set to join Jake Gyllenhaal in the Mars mission film “Life” at Sony Pictures.
