Reynolds Joins “Gold,” Monaghan In “Pixels”

Ryan Reynolds is set and Daniel Bruhl is in negotiations to join Helen Mirren in Simon Curtis’ fact-based story “Woman In Gold” for The Weinstein Company.

Mirren plays Maria Altmann, a Jewish WWII survivor who fought the Austrian government to get back several paintings by Gustav Klimt that were pilfered from her family during wartime.

Reynolds will play the attorney who took his case, whilst Bruhl will play his adversary. Filming begins in May.

Meanwhile, Michelle Monaghan has joined the cast of Chris Columbus’ “Pixels” at Sony Pictures and Happy Madison.

Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, Kevin James and Josh Gad co-star in this adaptation of Patrick Jean’s short film about popular 1980s videogame characters attacking New York City.

The movie follows a group of videogame experts who are recruited by the government to help deal with the threat.
