Revolution Studios and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment have come to a deal which will see the latter creating non-theatrical productions based on properties in Revolution’s forty-six film catalogue.
This includes the likes of “Black Hawk Down,” “Maid in Manhattan,” “Anger Management,” “XXX” and “White Chicks”. Monetary terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The deal allows for Universal 1440 Entertainment to produce and distribute sequels, prequels or other spinoffs of Revolution feature titles for non-theatrical formats worldwide.
Universal 1440 Entertainment has successfully produced DTV spin-offs of various Universal franchises including “American Pie,” “Bring it On,” “Death Race” and “The Scorpion King”.
