Revisiting The Brideshead Film

HanWay Films and Ecosse Films are teaming for the long in development, big-screen adaptation of “Brideshead Revisited”.

Julian Jarrold will direct the adaptation of the famous Evelyn Waugh novel which spawned an acclaimed 1981 mini-series of the same name starring Jeremy Irons.

The story follows Charles Ryder, an Oxford student in the 1930s, who becomes entangled with a family of Catholic aristocrats – becoming friends with the alcoholic son, then falling in love with the daughter.

Andrew Davies and Jeremy Brock have penned the script and shooting is scheduled to begin filming this Spring in Oxford and Venice says the trades.
