Reubens On Pee-Wee, Jennings On Future

Paul Reubens tells MTV News that a script for “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse: The Movie” is done. “it’s already done, the script is already fully written; it’s ready to shoot tomorrow. Oh wait, not tomorrow! I’m not available tomorrow. I had a conflict, forgot” says the actor who shot to fame in the 80’s with the show.

The action would take place outside the setting of the show though – “On Pee Wee’s Playhouse, on the television series, we never left the playhouse, we were always inside the playhouse. The movie is all out of the playhouse. There are two scenes in the playhouse, but the rest is out of the playhouse.”

Meanwhile, “Son of Rambow” and “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” director Garth Jennings tells The Playlist that he has completed two film scripts he hopes to get to work on soon.

First is an animated film for which the script is completely done, the other is a “live action epic” that is still being worked on. Both are described as “gigantic labors of love”. Funding however is proving a problem in these tight economic times.
