Capcom’s remake of its survival horror classic “Resident Evil 2” has shipped an impressive three million units globally in its first week.
Unlike most ‘remasters’ of old games, the new “Resident Evil 2” is a remake built completely from the ground up for current-generation platforms with new graphics, improved combat and more. The game is currently sitting at a stellar 91/100 on Metacritic.
The original “Resident Evil 2” released on the PlayStation console in 1998 and sold 4.96 million copies cumulatively. The remake is expected to easily surpass that.
Capcom has also announced free DLC for the game which adds three new stories from the perspectives of minor characters.
