Jeremy Renner and comedian Hannibal Buress are in talks to join the Ed Helms-led comedy “Tag” at New Line.
The story follows a group of friends who have been playing a no-holds-barred version of the children’s game tag for the last thirty years. Renner and Buress will reportedly play part of the gang.
The story is based on a 2013 Wall Street Journal feature about ten Washington classmates who played the game for decades, secretly entering each other’s homes and scheduling their vacations around the game.
Jeff Tomsic (“This is Not Happening”) helms from a script by Mark Steilen and Rob McKitrrick. Tod Garner, Steilen and Sean Robbins will produce.
