Reginald Hudlin (“Marshall”) is attached to direct “Shadowman,” a film adaptatio of Valiant Entertainment’s indie supernatural comic title.
The story follows an African-American musician in New Orleans who becomes infected by a spirit that allows him otherworldly abilities – he’s the most recent incarnation of Shadowman, a mystical defender of Earth against demonic invasion.
He must protect against threats from Master Darque and other denizens of the netherworld known as the Deadside.
Hudlin and “Salem” showrunner Adam Simon are penning a new draft of a script previously worked on by “Sense8” producer J. Michael Straczynski. Hudlin and Simon will work together on the revised story, Straczynski remains on board as executive producer.
Dinesh Shamdasani, Sean Daniel and Jason Brown will produce.
