Redmayne, Langella Are “Miraculous”

Eddie Redmayne is in talks to play a lead in the HBO Broadway-themed drama pilot “Miraculous Year” which John Logan and Oscar winner Kathryn Bigelow will produce reports Deadline.

Norbert Leo Butz, Hope Davis, Frank Langella and Patti LuPone also are in talks to star in the story, which is described as an examination of a New York family as seen through the lens of charismatic, self-destructive Broadway composer Terry Segal (Butz).

Langella will play his famous artist father, Davis as his mid-level corporate lawyer sister, LuPone a Broadway diva, and Redmayne a sexy singer/dancer in Terry’s new show.

Bigelow directs the pilot. The project joins two other high-profile pilots HBO is producing this year – David Milch/Michael Mann’s drama “Luck” and Bill Condon’s comedy “Tilda”.
