Robert Redford tells The Associated Press that his “A Walk in the Woods” project is finally a go.
An adaptation of the best-selling 1998 Bill Bryson book, it follows Bryson hike along the Appalachian Trail. Redford will produce and star as Bryson, whilst Barry Levinson is expected to direct it.
The project was rumoured back in mid-2005 and at the time Redford was seeking his “The Sting” co-star Paul Newman to put in a role.
Redford will follow that up with an untitled “inside, down-to-the mats story” of how Brooklyn Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey helped Jackie Robinson break into major league baseball in 1947.
