Summit Entertainment has started prepping its proposed sequel to this year’s action/comedy hit “Red” reports Collider.
Jon and Erich Hoeber, who adapted the first film from the Warren Ellis’ comic book, have been confirmed to be onboard to write the sequel.
Despite the hiring, the sequel hasn’t officially received the green light yet. Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren starred as former CIA agents in the original, no word as to which actors from the original are likely to return as yet.
The original “Red” has grossed $90 million domestically and nearly as much again internationally since its release in October. The Hoeber’s also penned the upcoming Peter Berg-directed “Battleship”.
