Universal Pictures and Legendary have set a June 12th 2020 release date for the Dwayne Johnson-led action thriller “Red Notice”.
A re-teaming with his “Central Intelligence” and “Skyscraper” director Rawson Marshall Thurber, the $125-150 million budget film will star Johnson as an Interpol agent after the most wanted art thief in the world. The project will see Johnson receive his first $20+ million salary for a film.
The release date announcement comes as several other films set new dates recently. Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. rights to the Judy Greer-led comedy “Adventures in Public School” and plans a release in cinemas and on VOD on April 27th.
Netflix has taken rights in key markets to the Lily James romance-drama “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” with U.S., Canada, Latin America, Italy, Eastern Europe and SouthEast Asia releases planned later this year.
Finally there’s Kevin Connolly’s “Gotti,” starring John Travolta as the famed mob boss, which has set a new June 15th full theatrical release.
