A new red-band trailer has been released for “The Oath,” a new comedy which hails from “Blockers” and “Neighbors” star Ike Barinholtz who pens, directs and co-stars with Tiffany Haddish.
The project is said to be a skewering of the holiday family film in this the era of political tribalism. Barinholtz and Haddish play a progressive couple who are appalled at the latest insult from the Oval Office: All Americans are being asked to sign a loyalty oath by the day after Thanksgiving.
As the deadline to sign approaches, the combination of sparring relatives, his own agitation and the unexpected arrival of two government agents (John Cho and Billy Magnussen) sends an already tense holiday dinner off the rails. David Stassen, Andrew C. Robinson, Sean McKittrick and Raymond Mansfield will produce the film which Roadside Attractions will open in cinemas on October 12th.
